Introduction
The Harkins Collection is a privately held collection of Chinese furniture and decorative arts, assembled over several decades by a collector whose life and work were centred in Asia.
It reflects a sustained interest in traditional Chinese craftsmanship, architecture and decorative symbolism, and a preference for substantial objects of enduring visual character. The collection ranges from carved and lacquered furniture and architectural elements to ceramics, metalwork, lighting and traditional domestic forms.
Several of the principal pieces were reportedly acquired through Just Anthony in Singapore. Each object is catalogued under a stable accession number, with available dimensions, materials, construction, condition, provenance and photography recorded as research continues.
